City Lights

Image
Beneath the Seine's sigh, where secrets unfurl, I chased phantoms, a soul in a moonlit whirl. Avenue whispers where gaslights ignite, A concrete canvas, bathed in twilight's might. Through grand arcades and opera's gilded sheen, Love's embers flickered, then vanished unseen. Cafe eyes sparkled, a promise half-born, A thousand lost kisses, in whispers forlorn. But oh, the solace of this dreamlike stray, Lost in the labyrinth, where starlight finds its way. No  charted course, no answers to implore, Just dizzying rhythms, forevermore. Doomed to the waltz, with hope on my tongue, I pirouette through shadows, forever young. Let dawn be distant, let daylight be unknown, For in this nocturne, my heart finds its own. So let me chase echoes, let longing take flight, Lost in the maze, where city lights burn bright. For in the heart of shadows, where stories ascend, Love's phantom whispers, till love can mend. PS: I won wordplay whirlwind writing prompt conducted by the India...

Twinning in love

Image
Braids unraveled, secrets spilled like sand, Two sisters woven, hand in sun-warmed hand. Through giggles bright and whispered starry dreams, We built a world where laughter always gleams.  But fate, a fickle wind, now whispers change, Distant shores beckon, rearranging range. Your wings unfurl, a yearning to take flight,  To chase the sun beyond our shared sunlight.  My heart, a tethered kite, will ache to roam, But pride, a steady star, will guide you home. Across the miles, our love, a whispered thread, Will paint the moon with dreams we share in bed. So go, my darling, paint the world your own, With every step, a seed of courage sown. And know, dearest , though the oceans roar, My love's a lighthouse, burning evermore.

Sun down…

Image
Where day and night in tender union unite, In hues of gold, and crimson's ardent fire, The heavens ablaze, with day's last desire.  Like brushstrokes of a celestial artisan's hand, The sky ignites, in a radiant command, Clouds, like cotton wisps, in soft embrace, Reflect the sun's last kiss, upon their face. A weary traveler, bids farewell, As twilight's gentle slumber begins to spell, Its golden crown, now set upon the night, Leaving trails of glory, in radiant light. In this grand theater of the celestial play, Where day and night forever hold sway, The sunset's kiss, a curtain's gentle fall, A promise of dawn, when day shall recall. PS: Never knew one of my best poetry’s would happen while leisurely swinging around with a book, a cup of tea and a marvellous view of the sea…

Beauty personified

Image
In emerald depths, where shadows loom A silvery enchantress, dispelling gloom, She emerges, soft and pale, From the trees, a cosmic veil. With whispers of the ancient night, She bathes the forest in her light, A symphony of silvered hues, Where darkness blends with moonlit blues. Oh, silvery enchantress, pure and bright, You paint the forest in your light, A canvas of celestial art, Where dreams and moonlight intertwine, from heart to heart. In hushed embrace, the forest sighs, As lunar beams caress the skies, A tapestry of light and shade, Where nature's secrets gently cascade

The comeback place

Image
this realm of contrasts,   To escape the confines of this place, Where joy and misery dance,   A symphony of light and shade,  I find my spirit in a trance. Bound by the echoes of time,  I yearn to break free, And set my soul truly wild and free.   Yet, within this paradox,  a solace I find,  A hidden grace, a rebirth of the mind.  This is my comeback place,  Where I reclaim my power,  Where I shed my old skin and rise anew,           Forevermore.

Mother's arms to Woman's wings

Image
In her mother's arms, she was born, A precious gift, love's sweet dawn. With gentle touch and tender gaze, Her mother nurtured her days. From tiny steps to babbling words, Her mother's love, her guiding bird. Through laughter, tears, and growing pains, Her mother's love forever sustained. The years sped by, like fleeting sand, The child transformed, a woman's hand. Her mother's love, a beacon bright, Guiding her through day and night. Now grown and wise, she takes her flight, Yet her mother's love shines ever bright. In every step, in every dream, Her mother's love forever gleams. Oh, sacred bond, so pure and true, A mother's love, forever new. In her mother's care, she grew and thrived, A testament to love's sweet guide.

Eternal Wait

Image
In the realm of time, where moments dance, Lies a wait that's eternal, never to advance. A longing deep, a yearning true, For something that's out of reach, forever due. In the stillness of this eternal embrace, Our hearts whisper stories, with lingering grace. Of loves unrequited, of dreams yet untold, Of hopes that flicker, like embers of gold. So we wait, with unwavering faith, For the day when our dreams will take flight. When the eternal wait will finally cease, And our hearts will find their everlasting solace.
